“A grown-up look at the art of children’s literature”

October 12, 2010

You might have noticed that we’ve added a new subtitle for our film. Our official title is now Library of the Early Mind: A grown-up look at the art of children’s literature.

We’ve made the addition to emphasize that ours is not a film specifically intended for children, and it is not primarily a “family film,” but a critical documentary meant for a sophisticated general audience not unlike most of the films that air on the PBS programs POV and Independent Lens.

If we were to give the film a rating, it would be PG-13, as some of the themes and the general level of discussion might give parents pause before sharing the film with children younger than 13. We believe the film will hold the attention of teenagers interested in books and stories and art.
