Will you be coming to Toronto? I can’t wait to see this!
I have linked to your site from mine: http://nathaliefoy.wordpress.com/
Hi, Nathalie.
Yes, we’ll be screening in Toronto in 2011. If you have suggestions for places to screen the film or people to contact, please email me at stevenwithrow@yahoo.com. Thanks!
Steven
The film looks very interesting. Can you tell me when and where will it be shown in Seattle?

I’m currently a sudent in Australia studying children’s literature and I’m trying to put together a collection of useful resources such as this film for an assignment I have. I was wondering if this film would be shown in Australia and if not is there are way i could get a hold of the film?
My chosen research topic for this assignment is on how literature for girls hhas changed dramatically throughout history but literature boys seems to be unwilling to make any changes. I think that this documentary would be a great assest.
please get back to me as soon as possible
Thank you
Nathan
Dear Nathan,
We are working on arranging screenings in Australia for 2011, but nothing has been finalized yet. If you have suggestions for places to show the film or people to contact, please email me at stevenwithrow@yahoo.com. Thanks, and best of luck with your studies!
Is the film coming to Maine?
Hi, Susan.
Yes, Maine is on our list, but nothing confirmed yet. Please email me at stevenwithrow@yahoo.com with suggestions. Thanks!
Will you be coming to Los Angeles?
We’re working on UCLA for January or early February. Will post as soon as we’re able.
Hi from the Library Science Department at Kutztown University in PA! We just blogged about your film here: http://kucmc.wordpress.com/
Will you be coming to Pennsylvania? Would love to have the film show here or somewhere nearby.
Thanks!
Please email me at stevenwithrow@yahoo.com. We can talk about opportunities in your area. Thanks!
Why not thinking about coming to Barcelona? I am doing a Master in Childrens literature and I am sure we could welcome you in the University. And once you are in Europe I could suggest other interesting places where you could come for a screening!
Please email me at stevenwithrow@yahoo.com. I’d love to talk about possibilities. Thanks!
Hello! Of course I want to know when you’re coming to Philadelphia! I would love to help you bring it there. Thank you!
Will there be any screenings in Atlanta (or anywhere in Georgia)?
We’re working on bringing the film to Atlanta and Decatur in the spring. We’ll post info on this blog as soon as we’ve confirmed some dates. Thanks for writing, Kristina!
You could consider the Decatur Book Festival (September) as a possible screening venue. It’s now one of the largest independent book festivals in the U.S. and it draws giant crowds.
Thanks for the suggestion, Becky.
How about a stop in Singapore on the way to Australia?
Can’t wait to see your film! I see your planning on trying to be in Atlanta in the spring. Any chance of also stopping in South Carolina?
Hello,
Will you be scheduling any programs in the Chicago area? We have two centers for children’s literature in the vicinity: Center for Teaching through Children’s Books at National-Louis University (http://nl.edu/library/ctcb/ctcb.cfm) and Butler Children’s Literature Center at Dominican University (http://www.dom.edu/butler), not to mention the Siskel Film Center (http://www.siskelfilmcenter.org/). Finally, at what point would schools and libraries be able to purchase copies with/without performance rights?
Thank you!
Melissa Henderson, Head of Children’s Services
Glencoe Public Library
Melissa,
We are looking at several Chicago possibilities. We’;; be in touch via email. Thanks for your interest!
Please let me know of any Chicago-area screenings. Thank you.
We’d love to discuss becoming involved with any Chicago screenings you have planned–or helping you consider one on our campus (the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago OR the downtown Chicago ‘Loop’). We children’s lit faculty work closely with our Chicago chapter of SCBWI and so would enjoy connecting you with them, too, if you’re not already connected. Please let me know how we might help. Thanks, Marie Donovan, Associate Professor of Education, DePaul University, Chicago
We’ll keep you posted. We should have something in late winter or spring in Chicago.
Hello,
I am the Executive Director of the Children’s Book Council, the national trade association for children’s book publishers. Word of your wonderful film has reached us and we’re wondering if you would consider setting up a screening of the film for people who work in children’s book publishing. We would be happy to spread the word though word seems to be spreading like wildfire. We would love to show our support for what you’ve put together and bring it to the people who publish the books!
Thanks for considering it,
Robin Adelson
Thanks for writing, Ms. Adelson. I will send you an email.
Hi,
We would love to host a screening at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. We have the Marantz Picturebook Collection for the Study of Picturebook Art and the Virginia Hamilton Conference on Multicultural Literature for Youth (celebrating 27 years in 2011). Thank you for your consideration.
Carolyn S. Brodie, Professor, KSU, School of Library and Information Science
Thanks, Carolyn. I will send you an email.
Will you have a screening in Maryland. I teach children’s lit at the College of Notre Dame in Baltimore and would love to talk with you about a screening for college students in the area.
Betty Kansler
College of Notre Dame
Baltimore, Maryland
I’ll email you. Thanks for writing!
I hope, with all my heart, that it will screen in the Sacramento area and the San Francisco Bay Area. There are a whole lot of children’s book writers and illustrators here as well as many, many (did I mention many?) children’s book aficionados.
I’m wondering if it might be shown through UC Davis and/or University of California Berkeley.
Thank you so much.
Pat Kahn
This film looks amazing! Are you coming to North Carolina by any chance? I study children’s literature and would love to see this.
The film showed at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti Michigan and I LOVED it! When will it be released on DVD?
Thanks very much, Wendy. We’ll be making an announcement about our future plans for the film this spring. Stay tuned!
Saw the pre-screening at the Southern Festival of Books in Nashville, TN. Loved what I saw, but want to see the complete film. Will it come to Indiana?
Thanks, Sherri. No plans for Indiana at this point, but if you have suggestions, please email me at stevenwithrow@yahoo.com.
Will you have a screening near Sarasota, Florida? We have a film festival here in April each year. Hopefully, you film has a spot on the screening schedule.
We’re working out some Florida dates, but nothing specific yet. We will post to the blog as soon as we’re able.
A friend in New Jersey asked me if I knew of someone who could help with getting to show the film here in Australia. My only suggestion is to contact the Victorian Writers’ Centre and ask if they have any contacts who could help.

Cheers,
– Jillian.
Thanks for the suggestion, Jillian. We will contact them soon.
I can’t wait to see the film! Are you coming to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania?
I’ve sent you an email, Leanne. Thanks.
This film sounds incredible!! I am hoping to go into elementary education and get a graduate degree in children’s literature 🙂 Will this film be coming to Philadelphia? or will it at least be released for purchase on DVD?
What about Vancouver? Any plans to head west in Canada?
We were at University of Victoria in January. No plans for new screenings in western Canada just yet, but stay tuned.
Hi there,
Came across details of your film on David Maybury’s blog http://www.davidmaybury.ie/journal/ and wanted to introduce our organisation as a point of contact, should you be interested in screening it in Ireland.
Regards, Tom
Tom, we’re definitely interested in screening in Ireland. I’ll email you.
I live in a residence that is home and licensed health facility for a large number of retired sister teachers of young children. They would love to see the documentary but unfortunately could never attend something in the evening or get out to a facility with ease. Is there going to be a way in the future to see this documentary without being among the literati elite? I don’t mean to sound mean or maybe I do! I am an activity director now. I was a reading/literature teacher for 35 years. But I am well aware of the “left on the shelf attitude” the happens to a lot of the elderly and here to many of the elderly, some of whom were faculty down at the college where the documentary was shown.
We’re working on plans for releasing the DVD and digital downloads by the end of 2011 or early 2012. We will announce here on the blog and elsewhere. Thanks!
When are you screening in Texas? My son wrote the music and I can’t wait to see this!!!
We’re still working on it. I’ll let Jason know as soon as we have a confirmed date in your area.
