December 2, 2011

Our simple and convenient DVD order page (via PayPal) is now online at:

We will begin shipping the DVDs the week of December 4, and people who have reserved before December 1 will receive first priority. We are fulfilling orders ourselves, so please be patient. You will receive a digital receipt after completing your purchase.

Also, digital rentals are available for $4.99 at:

We’ve priced the DVD of Library of the Early Mind at one amount of US$30 for both consumers and institutions, recognizing that libraries, schools, and universities are finding it harder to allocate funds for more typical educational pricing of $150 to $200, which would represent a sum covering the use of a DVD for patron loans or multiple showings. Our general price of US$30 is in the range of “consumer” pricing for independent films.

We hope the pricing will allow you to enjoy and share the film. We encourage consumers looking to view the film individually to consider our online digital rental, priced atUS$4.99. We also encourage educators to consider using the digital rental to have students view the film outside classroom time. It helps reflect the educational usage we support and also helps us recover our production costs.

The $30 DVD purchase gives librarians standard circulation rights and allows teachers to show the film to classes of up to 30 students. Event organizers interested in showing the film to larger audiences, and those who are paying by check/purchase order or have other questions, should contact Steven Withrow at earlymindfilm(at)gmail(dot)com.

Thank you very much for supporting Library of the Early Mind!
